Pro Modified Outboard:

GENERAL:

ALL Blarney Island general, safety and fuel/technical rules must be adhered to. Rules are subject to change. Any changes will be communicated at drivers' meeting one week prior to enactment. Any requested changes or additions must be made in writing to Blarney Island Race Staff.

BOATS:

Any hull type allowed.

FUEL:

  • No additives allowed. No nitrous oxide or any other type bottle pressure injection.
  • Motor modifications are allowed as noted.

SPECIFIC MOTOR RULES AND MINIMUM WEIGHTS:

Boats Conforming to ODBA/APBA Modification Production Rules:

  • Mercury Center Horn Motors - 1350 lbs minimum weight
  • Mercury SVS Equipped Motors - 1375 lbs minimum weight
  • Evinrude/Johnson/Yamaha Carb Motors - 1350 lbs minimum weight
  • Evinrude/Johnson/Yamaha Fuel Injected Motors - 1400 lbs minimum weight.

Boats Conforming to ODBA/APBA Pro Gas Rules:

  • Mercury 2.5 liter motors, 1400 lbs minimum weight
  • Mercury Big Block (>2.5 liter) Motors, 1450 lbs minimum weight
  • Yamaha Small Block motors, 1400 lbs minimum weight
  • Yamaha Big Block motors, 1450 lbs minimum weight
  • Evinrude/Johnson 2.7/3.0 liter V6 Engines, 1450 lbs minimum weight
  • Evinrude/Johnson 3.3 liter V6 Engines - 1475 lbs minimum weight
  • Evinrude/Johnson V8 Engines, 1525 lbs minimum weight
